Hillary's Non-concession

Was out all night, so I missed Hillary's speech, but I'm watching it now and I'm scratching my head, trying to figure out what she hopes to gain by staying in this race, even for one more day. Is she seriously considering the Vice-Presidency? It would seem to me that appearing with Obama tonight would help her to that end...

What do you think? I'd like to hear from some Hillary-supporters on this one. Any ideas?

I think maybe you should go to bed, since you have to relieve me in the morning!

Honestly, who knows what Hillary's thinking anymore... I expect her to concede in the next few days, though.

Hillary supporter here! My guess is that she is not dropping out because of the change in campaign finance laws. She borrowed a lot of money for her campaign. The laws now make it more difficult for creditors to simply forgive the debt (it's too similar to a campaign contribution over the limit). Thus she needs to continue to collect campaign donations in order to not run afoul of election laws.

Congrats to Obama, by the way. The Democrats have an excellent candidate. I'm glad that we Dems can now move on to the more important business of ripping McCain an new one.

sid may be right. The campaign laws may make it more difficult for her to reimburse her account for campaign uses. I think the DNC and the campaign finance office is talking about this today even.
